Adding piezo tweeters to a Roland Cube-15XL and Roland Cube-Street

Background

I play keyboard mostly with headphones so I wanted to avoid purchasing an expensive keyboard amp for occasional use.

I already had 2 Roland amps kicking around: a Cube-Street and a Cube-15XL. Both have similar power outputs. But I found that when playing keys through them, they lacked a little bit in sound definition due to missing tweeters.

So I decided to add some cheap piezo tweeters on both of them. Because piezo tweeters can have a frequency response and impedance that complement midrange speakers found in Roland Cube amps  (the tweeters I found have a range of 3 to 20kHz, 4-8 ohms), it made sense to simply wire the speakers and tweeters together in parallel.

Having completed this installation, I can say that the result is satisfying. I can now hear stuff I couldn't hear before, like some percussions, bells, drum stick hitting a hi-hat, hi-def. sound effects, etc. And since I did it on both of my amps, I get this enhancement in stereo.
